EcoFlow STREAM 5000: The Balance Falls Due and the RRP Quietly Drops

The EcoFlow STREAM 5000 pre-order balance falls due on 15 September 2026. We read EcoFlow’s UK page on 14 September 2026, a day early, and three things had changed since our 8 September check: the RRP came down £100, the £9.90 deposit now buys a bigger discount than it did, and a shipping estimate appeared on the product page for the first time. The price you actually pay did not move at all.

What Changed on the UK Page in the Week to 14 September

The headline figure is the one that did not move. The STREAM 5000 is still £1,599 on EcoFlow’s UK store, exactly as it was on 8 September. What changed is the number it is struck through against. The page now shows a regular price of £1,799 and a £200 saving. A week ago that regular price was £1,899 and the saving was £300. The discount on the label got smaller; the cheque stayed the same size.

The second change is more interesting to anyone still deciding. Alongside the £1,599, EcoFlow now runs the line “Pay £9.90 Deposit to Unlock £1,499 Exclusive Launch Price”, and a banner across the store reads “Unlock Extra £100 OFF with £9.9 before September 15th”. On 8 September the deposit held the £1,599 price and nothing more. So the deposit is now worth £100 rather than a place in the queue, and the deadline on that is the same 15 September date the balances land on.

The rest of the STREAM 5000 range

The same pattern runs across the line. Every figure here was read on 14 September 2026.

The STREAM AC 5000 is the same battery without the solar input, which is why it is the cheaper of the two and why it is the wrong one to buy if you want the panels to feed it directly. The four-panel bundle carries the largest cash discount of the three at £500, and the bundle card names 500W panels where EcoFlow’s configurator elsewhere still offers 400W ones, so check the panel wattage in your basket before you commit.

A Shipping Estimate, in Print, at Last

The one genuinely new piece of information is a date. All three STREAM 5000 cards now carry the line “Estimated shipping will be Week 4 of October”. That phrase had been circulating in search snippets for a fortnight, but we could not read it on any page we fetched, so we left it off the site. It is on the product page now.

Week 4 of October is roughly six weeks after the balance comes out, which is a long time to be out of pocket on a pre-order. It is also an estimate rather than a commitment, and EcoFlow has moved this line before: the June launch coverage talked about a September release, and September is now going to end without units in the country. If the timing matters to you more than the launch price, waiting for stock to land is the cheaper kind of patience.

No STREAM 3000, and What People Are Actually Searching For

We also checked whether EcoFlow had quietly added a smaller sibling. It has not. A search of the UK store for “STREAM 3000” on 14 September 2026 returned 27 results and not one of them was a STREAM 3000 product. The 5000 line is the STREAM 5000 and the STREAM AC 5000. The 3,000 figure people keep typing is the AC output of the STREAM 5000 itself, not a model number.

If you want something smaller from the same stable, the first-generation STREAM series is what exists: the STREAM Ultra X at £1,399 with 3.84kWh and four solar inputs, and the STREAM Ultra and STREAM AC Pro below it. Those were built around the 800W European plug-in limit, which makes them closer in spirit to balcony solar, though a battery is a battery and the UK register still will not have them.

Should You Let the Balance Go Through?

If you already hold a deposit and you want the unit, there is nothing here that argues for cancelling. The price you were promised is still the price on the page, the 90-day price guarantee is still advertised, and the shipping estimate is at least now written down.

If you have not deposited and you are weighing it up, the £100 the deposit unlocks is real money and it expires on 15 September, but so does the freedom that comes with not having paid. You'd be committing £1,499 to a product with no independent hands-on reviews, a dispatch estimate six weeks out, and an electrician’s bill still to come. A home battery of this size earns its keep through a smart tariff and a smart meter that lets it charge when electricity is cheap, so factor a working smart meter into the plan as well; EcoFlow sold its own smart meter separately when we wrote this, and the EcoFlow smart home integrations are the part of this generation that looks genuinely better than the last.

A week on, two of those objections have softened. By 21 September 2026 the £1,599 bundle listed the smart meter as included, and the first independent tests had been published, including a metered efficiency test of the AC 5000. The dispatch estimate and the electrician’s bill haven’t changed.

Our position has not moved since June. For renters and flat-dwellers, this is the wrong product at the wrong price, and a verified kit from £449 does the job you can legally do yourself. For homeowners with somewhere to put it, the STREAM 5000 is a credible whole-home system, and the honest advice is to wait for the first units to land in late October and for somebody independent to plug one in.
